Stronger Together: Accelerating Relief Efforts for Ukrainian Refugees

in New York City

The Ukrainian Habitat Fund announces

Stronger Together: An Evening of Fundraising for Ukrainian Refugees on 26 October at Veselka

20 October 2022, New York City. Due to the war in Ukraine, millions of Ukrainians are forced to seek safety and asylum in what is the largest and fastest growing refugee crisis in recent history. New York City, which already has the largest Ukrainian community in America, is quickly becoming home to more families escaping the war each day that require support on the ground.

The Ukrainian Habitat Fund (UHF), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides housing and support services for displaced families, is hosting Stronger Together: An Evening of Fundraising for Ukrainian Refugees. UHF is already helping refugees during what is now the largest displacement of Europeans since World War II, and the event is set to raise funds so that UHF can expand their efforts. As more families continue to seek refuge in NYC, UHF has a growing list of families that need housing and access to vital resources such as healthcare, education, and employment.

This community event will be held on October 26th at the iconic Veselka restaurant, located in the Little Ukraine area of the East Village in NYC. It will be an opportunity for the community to come together to raise awareness and the funds necessary to support refugees by giving them access to critical resources, most importantly housing.

The night will be full of delicious Ukrainian food, cocktails, live entertainment, silent auctions, raffles, speeches from community leaders, and you’ll get to hear first-hand from refugee families. All attendees will leave this event inspired and equipped with information about how they can directly transform the lives of impacted families.

Confirmed speakers include:

Manuel Castro, Commissioner of Immigrant Affairs, Office of the Mayor, City of New York

Carlina Rivera, Representative of the 2nd Council District of New York City

Andrij Dobriansky, Ukrainian Congress Committee of America
