Ukrainian Habitat Fund partners with Protez Foundation

to provide housing to Ukrainians undergoing treatment in the US

1 May, 2023, New York City. The Ukrainian Habitat Fund (UHF), a non-profit helping displaced Ukrainians find housing in the United States, has become an official partner of Protez Foundation, a non-profit committed to providing prosthetics and rehabilitation to Ukrainian children, soldiers, and civilians who have suffered limb loss during the ongoing war.

The Ukrainian Habitat Fund has helped secure affordable housing for displaced Ukrainian families and wounded soldiers undergoing medical rehabilitation since its launch in May 2022. This latest partnership marks the first expansion of UHF’s operations beyond New York City into Minnesota, where Protez Foundation provides treatment programs.

As part of this partnership, UHF will cover the majority of housing expenses for Ukrainians coming to the US for prosthetics and rehabilitation provided by Protez Foundation; the typical rehabilitation and treatment program requires 3-4 weeks.

Both organizations share the joint mission to enable an opportunity for a normal life to Ukrainian heroes, civilians and children.

UHF co-founder Gabriella Oros: "We are proud to announce the expansion of our operations to help even more Ukrainians who have suffered from the ongoing war. We admire Protez Foundation for all the work they do helping injured Ukrainians regain mobility and return to their normal lives.”

UHF co-founder Lidiya Oros: “For nearly a year since UHF was founded, we have helped dozens of Ukrainian families and soldiers with housing and access to support services in New York City. We want to thank all our donors and supporters who are allowing us to continue helping Ukrainians in the hour of their greatest need.”

Yura Aroshidze, Protez Foundation CEO:

"We are thankful to the Ukrainian Habitat Fund for providing housing assistance which helps us expand the impact Protez can have by helping even more people. Without support of such partners, the foundation would not be able to provide the much-needed help to the Ukrainian soldiers and children. We invite everyone to join us on a mission to provide high-quality prosthetics and change the life of the Ukrainians for the better, one brave person at a time".

About Protez Foundation

The Protez Foundation was formed in May 2022 by Yura Aroshidze and prosthetist Dr. Yakov Gradinar, as local community volunteers in Minnesota answered the call to help support Ukraine in its fight for freedom against the Russian invasion. At Protez Foundation, we are committed to helping rehabilitate and give a chance for a normal life to the brave Ukrainian defenders, civilians, and children who have suffered limb loss during this war. Team at Protez established a network along the entire continuum - from traveling to the US to completing rehabilitation after the prosthetic surgery in Ukraine.

The foundation is proud to be the largest platform in the world for prosthetics for Ukrainians. To date, the foundation has provided prosthetics for 64 soldiers, including 2 children, with the aim of helping as many people as possible with quality prosthetics.

The foundation invites everyone to join them in this noble cause and help them continue their mission of providing prosthetics for Ukrainian soldiers and children.
