MEET DARYNA

My name is Daryna and I was born and lived in Korosten, Ukraine. Studied at Kyiv National Economic University and earned a Master Degree in Economics and Bachelor Degree in Construction. Thereafter, I worked as a Customer Service agent at utilities payment office.

In March of 2022, I fled Ukraine due to Russian invasion as it became too scary and unsafe. The US government allowed me to enter the US under the Uniting for Ukraine program and granted me a humanitarian parole.

I think that the most important types of support that sponsor should keep is providing safe housing and basic assistance. While being in Poland, we discussed all these matters and my sponsor promised to support, but everything turned out to be not true and I was left with no housing.

I really want to start a new life in New York, but not having a secure place to stay makes everything more difficult. Due to the fact, that I am a refugee and fled my home, I did not have any financial means to pay for house. With the help of Camba and Ukrainian Habitat Fund, I was able to secure long term housing.
